Forgive me as it has been some time since I was there, but about a month ago I was getting ready to head over to Orlando for work training from Sarasota. I pulled out of my driveway and my power steering was gone. I immediately drove to the only auto repair shop I have been to since living out here and they were too busy to help me. I started to google shops around me and Hitchcock Automotive came up. I made my way over and they had space and time to help me out right away. Scott Sr. (I believe was his name) was super kind (which I usually find uncommon as a woman looking to get her car fixed) and he reassured me it was an easy fix. The ?o-ring? had completely broken a piece off and they got my car up and cleaned up and replaced the ring within 20-30 min. I expressed my thanks and asked how much I owed and he told me it was on them and not to worry about it. Believe me I was worried about it. I never know how much mechanics are going to charge me and I couldn?t believe he did all of that for free. It was probably an easy little fix for them, but it was a huge fix to my day and restored a part of my faith in kindness. Thank you guys seriously. You had no idea how helpful that was to me when I needed it. Many thanks and will be back for any future car troubles. I highly recommend making this your first stop with auto repairs. A trustworthy team, quality work, and a safe and clean space. 10/10 guys.

I was looking for a good auto repair shop for my Lexus when I found Hitchcock Automotive mentioned several times on Next Door. I called and brought my car in with a list of items that needed to be repaired and asked if they would give me an estimate. While I waited, they looked the car over , gave me a very good price on the repairs and offered to do the work that day or the next, based on my convenience. I am very happy with the work that was done on my car and quite impressed with the customer service of Hitchcock Automotive. What a great find! Just an update to my last review because I know people are always looking for a good auto mechanic. My husband and I have used Hitchcock Automotive several times now for my Lexus RX 350 and his Jeep and we are extremely happy with their service. Scott, the owner, is just great! He runs a very efficient shop where the work is done on time and in line with the estimate. We have never had to bring anything back for an adjustment. Scott explains what needs to be done and , just as importantly, what doesn?t need to be done. When we bring our cars in for service, we know that the work will be done correctly and that we will be treated in a professional and courteous manner.

I came in with a muffler issue, they could have looked at me and assumed they could make some good money off of me by telling me I needed an all new muffler installed. I had previously had 4 new tires purchased and installed at Hitchcock Automotive Repair. At the time of new installation, I also paid for a road hazard policy to cover against tire damage caused by road debris and other hazards. While driving my wife ran over debris in the road which caused a puncture and complete failure of one of the tires. I spoke to Scott Hitchcock and informed him of the repair needed and I also told him that I was due for an oil change. As always with this great business all repairs were completed flawlessly. Even though this was an unplanned required repair, Scott was able to accommodate me and complete repairs in a very timely fashion. I was referred to Scott at Hitchcock Automotive by Lyle at C&S Corvettes because they were booked until early next year. He told me they were a father and son operation and did excellent work. I am a very particular type of customer who expects work to be done and done right. I brought my 2006 Corvette in for an EVAP replacement and a tire sensor. In the years I've owned my car it's never needed any major repairs. Because of this it was very important to me the car was worked on by mechanics that are familiar with Corvettes. I asked Scott to look over the car and let me know if he saw anything else for concern. He told me my differential had some fluid around the housing. I told him to look into it and let me know the cost to fix it . He was kind enough to see it was covered by my extended warranty and also changed the rear main seal as well. Although it was not a huge leak I felt it needed to be fixed. I had a good feeling about Scott and fully trusted in him and his team to get it done. When I picked up the car upon completion, as promised he put it on the lift so his mechanics could show me what they did. Great job to Rod who performed the work, Scott Jr. who answered some of my questions, and re programmed my tire sensor, and Scott Sr. who runs the shop. Scott Sr. was extremely kind and to the point. He didn't waste any time telling me what needed to be done and how much it would cost. They provided me a rental car at no extra charge and did an awesome job on my Corvette. By the way, it's probably one of the cleanest automotive shops I've ever seen. Thank you again for doing such a great job! I highly recommend this company.

1200 miles from home, my 2002 Toyota Sienna began making a loud bang when downshifting into first gear. With plans to drive home to Texas the next day on Christmas Eve, I called Scott based on the many reviews. He had me right where he wanted me, vulnerable and far from home. He looked over the car and diagnosed the issue in the transmission/torque converter. Instead of trying to scare me into buying very expensive and perhaps even unneeded repairs like so many other shops might, he simply sent me on my way with the assurance that the van shouldn't have any problems on the return journey. The other day was my first visit to Hitchcock Auto and the experience was excellent. I had destroyed my brakes on my car driving at Sebring Raceway in a track event. I knew the damage was extensive, but really had no idea what to expect. Times like this you begin to get concerned about an owners personal integrity because you are flying blind. Scott, the owner, was very professional and very honest about my damage and the repairs needed. I had purchased upgraded pads and rotors for my car and there was no problem with installing my provided parts. I had called other shops and they wanted an extra charge to install my parts. My calipers on the brakes were damaged and Scott found the rebuild kit for them, which saved me thousands. He called later and informed me the rear calipers were fine and only the fronts had to be done. The bill was very reasonable and the work done was excellent. I will definitely will be working with Scott and his staff in the future.

I went to Hitccock and I DID NOT have an oil leak but a leak of transmission oil and needed my radiator replaced. Not only did Gettle Hyundai misdiagnos my issuse they lied to me. I had Hitccock fix my car ($794) for a new radiator and oil change. I called Gettle Hyundai and asked how much the same service would cost me and they said $1400.00 plus labor. Great experience. Scott was upfront about needed repairs and maintenance, and didn't try to do anything without my authorization. Also, there was no high pressure to do anything immediately like some shops will try. There is a nice, clean, comfortable waiting area with free wi-fi, and he also has loaner cars available if you don't want to or are unable wait around. I have to drive 20 miles to get to this shop, but it's worth it for an honest mechanic.

My air conditioner was blowing warm air. I called other places and they either couldn't get me in for another 5-7 days or I didn't get a good feeling about them. One of them said over the phone it was probably: then he gave me a list of things other than low Freon. I called Scott and he said sure bring it in. They looked at it , and tested for leaks and found none, which meant that it was a very slow and small leak, which isn't unusual for a car that is 6 years old with 92k miles. He could have told me anything and I probably would have believed him. But he is extremely honest. If I have any other issues I will most certainly go back here. BTW super clean and comfortable waiting area too.

Traveling to Sarasota for vacation and brakes were making unusual noise and felt that it should be checked out. Read reviews prior to selection and called and spoke with owner , Scott , who directed me to come in anytime. Upon arrival I was greeted by a very courteous and welcoming owner that listened to my issues and had a tech on it and out for a test ride and on a lift and checked out quickly. Results were nothing to worry about and normal for some vehicles from north with little rusting that can cause some noise or rubbing that will go away and does not harm brakes and that mine were in excellent condition. When I offered my credit card for payment Scott informed me there was no charge as they had done no work!! I have already offered his name to some friends that spend winters here for their auto servicing needs.

Scott was outstanding! Needed an engine replacement. He got me a quote in under an hour. Said it would take 2 days and he was spot on. Cost was 100.00 under original estimate. I will definitely be back for future car care.

Great experience. Scott was upfront about needed repairs and maintenance, and didn't try to do anything without my authorization. Also, there was no high pressure to do anything immediately like some shops will try. There is a nice, clean, comfortable waiting area with free wi-fi, and he also has loaner cars available if you don't want to or are unable wait around. I have to drive 20 miles to get to this shop, but it's worth it for an honest mechanic.

Traveling to Sarasota for vacation and brakes were making unusual noise and felt that it should be checked out. Read reviews prior to selection and called and spoke with owner , Scott , who directed me to come in anytime. Upon arrival I was greeted by a very courteous and welcoming owner that listened to my issues and had a tech on it and out for a test ride and on a lift and checked out quickly. Results were nothing to worry about and normal for some vehicles from north with little rusting that can cause some noise or rubbing that will go away and does not harm brakes and that mine were in excellent condition. When I offered my credit card for payment Scott informed me there was no charge as they had done no work!! I have already offered his name to some friends that spend winters here for their auto servicing needs.

My air conditioner was blowing warm air. I called other places and they either couldn't get me in for another 5-7 days or I didn't get a good feeling about them. One of them said over the phone it was probably: then he gave me a list of things other than low Freon. I called Scott and he said sure bring it in. They looked at it , and tested for leaks and found none, which meant that it was a very slow and small leak, which isn't unusual for a car that is 6 years old with 92k miles. He could have told me anything and I probably would have believed him. But he is extremely honest. If I have any other issues I will most certainly go back here. BTW super clean and comfortable waiting area too.
